Knoxville (WVLT) - For the second day in a row, Knoxville firefighters have had to extinguish a fire at the same University of Tennessee campus dorm.
Captain Brent Seymour says someone set a bulletin board on fire on the third floor of the west wing of Humes Hall around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. That's an all girls dorm.
The fire was quickly put out by a U.T. staff member with a fire extinguisher, but the smoke in the dorm had to be ventilated. Also, the powder from the fire extinguisher had to be cleaned up on the 3rd floor before residents were allowe dback inside.
Seymour says arson investigators have been called to the scene.
No one was injured in the fire.
Monday, three people were briefly hospitalized after a fire in the same dorm. Firefighters were called there around 2 p.m.
Seymour says, a chair was set on fire on the 5th floor of the West Wing
of Humes Hall. He says that fire is suspicious and right now they are trying to determine if the fires are related.
The entire dorm was evacuated and Rural Metro transported three people the hospital for treatment.
Two were UT staff members, one was a student, according to Seymour.
