CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- A 6-year-old girl in burning clothes ran out of her kitchen and around her apartment building in Chattanooga to a neighbor who helped put the fire out.
Chattanooga Fire Department spokesman Bruce Garner said Dynasty Nicole McMillian was severely burned Tuesday afternoon. She was being treated for 2nd and 3rd degree burns to about 40 percent of her body.
Garner said the child was attempting to cook something on an electric stove when her clothes caught fire. The statement said she bolted outside with her clothes ablaze and then ran around the building to a neighbor who helped and called 911.
