CINCINNATI (AP) -- A Cincinnati man reportedly says his wife set a house fire that killed the couple's four children, but police say the woman was stabbed to death before the fire started.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports authorities say the man confessed to killing his wife, using gasoline to set fire to their home. The four children died of smoke inhalation. But the man says police badgered him while he was in the hospital, under the influence of painkillers, and he does not remember much of what he said.
The man does say he and his wife argued over money and over his girlfriend. He says he told his wife he was leaving her and she attacked him with a knife. So, he stabbed her. The man says he saw smoke coming into the room, as the two struggled.
He is jailed without bond.
