MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Memphis schools officials say a student was shot at least twice by another student over an argument that began outside of school.
The suspected shooter, a male 12th-grader at Mitchell High School, was in custody after the shooting Monday morning.
Police said the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Principal Daniel Ware said the shooter shot the victim and then told a coach, "It's over now."
The student handed the gun to the coach and made no attempt to flee.
It is the second shooting reported in a week at a Memphis high school.
