Former Clayton Homes employee sentenced on theft charges

MARYVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- A former Blount County mobile home manufacturing employee was sentenced to six months in jail today for the theft of more than 100-thousand dollars.

Michael Ray Carlton, 48, received his sentence, after an appellate court reduced it from eight years.

Carlton was hired in 1999 to develop mobile home parks for Clayton Homes, but was convicted in 2005 in the theft of nearly $114,000 from Clayton.

Carlton has been ordered to report to the Davidson County Jail February 20th.
