MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A teenager charged with shooting another student at a Memphis high school will remain behind bars pending a court hearing within two weeks.
Seventeen-year-old Corneilous Cheers is accused of shooting 19-year-old Stacey Kiser during a gym class Monday at Mitchell High School.
Kiser was shot several times, at least once in the neck, and was critically wounded. The Regional Medical Center at Memphis upgraded his condition to serious on Tuesday.
Cheers appeared in Juvenile Court for a preliminary hearing and was ordered detained without bond pending a second court
