WARTBURG, Tenn (WVLT) -- A man charged with shooting and killing a pregnant Scott County woman and her unborn child, was arraigned Thursday morning in front of a Morgan County judge.

Robert Stoll, 40, is being held on a $500,000 bond on the two counts of second degree murder.

Morgan County Sheriff Dennis Ledbetter says Jessica Hatmaker, 25, was shot while driving away after someone in her vehicle stole a radiator from Stoll's yard Monday morning.

The sheriff says Hatmaker was shot in the back when Stoll fired the shots.

She was able to drive away until she collapsed and died at an ambulatory care center in Wartburg.

She was eight months pregnant. One count of second degree murder is related to the death of the unborn fetus.

i believe that there is more to the story that is being told by reporters, stoll, and the other passengers in the car! how did these people know that stoll had a radaitor in his yard ? did they know him ? or what? the innocence of the unborn child is so sad ! how does the boyfriend / baby's father feel ? that he put his girlfriend and unborn child in the situation and how does he feel now that they are dead ? Now there are two other innocent children left without a mother and possilbly without a father depending on whether the boyfriend/ father is being charged with some type of criminal action! my sincere condolences go out to this young woman/mothers family ,father, mother, sisters, and friends. may her and the baby rest in peace!!! and hopefully stoll will get what he deserves from a jury for the stupidness of his actions!

I have to agree on this. What would be different if Stoll was shot? Run with the dogs, get shot with them. She endangered both of her children, not just one. Buy a radiator like everyone else. WOULD BE HERE TODAY IF SHE HAD LEFT THE DOGS ALONE!!!

the child was innocent but the mother is responsible for what happened. stroll may have fired the shot, he may have overreacted...but the mother placed herself in the situation. i am not saying stroll made the right decision but he was forced by her to make a choice and the cost was her life.
