Knoxville murder suspect arrested

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- A Knoxville man has been arrested in connection with a murder Wednesday in Western Heights.

Tyrone Kato Brown was arrested after a traffic stop around 5:00 p.m. on Cherry Street at I-40.

The stop was made by Knoxville Police, Knox County Sheriff's deputies, and the FBI.

Brown is wanted for shooting and killing Martes Matthews, 25, around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Western Heights Apartment Complex on Virginia avenue.

Investigators say Brown and Matthews knew each other, but are not releasing a motive at this time.
