Embattled Knox Co. senior director Cynthia Finch resigns

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- A senior manager at the center of controversy in the knox county mayor's office has resigned, effective immediately.

A Knox County mayor's office spokesman confirms Community Services Senior Director Cynthia Finch resigned yesterday afternoon, after
meeting for an hour-and-a-half with Knox County's Finance Director and the Mayor's Chief of Staff Mike Arms.

The spokesman won't say anything beyond that, and Ms. Finch hasn't been reachable for comment.

Ms. Finch has faced criticism regarding how her office has awarded federal grant money, and how her staff has used county-issued
credit cards.
