NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Senate has passed a proposal to create an animal abuser registry in Tennessee.
The measure sponsored by Sen. Doug Jackson, a Dickson Democrat, passed on a 23-0 vote.
Legislative analysts estimate that about three people convicted of violent offenses against animals would be added to the registry each year.
The companion bill is pending in the House.
