Ex-husband of missing Scott woman indicted in her death

HUNTSVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) The ex-husband of a missing Scott County woman has been indicted on a first degree murder charge in connection with her death.

Jean Johnson has been missing just over a year.

Around 11:30 a.m., Scott County Sheriff Anthony Lay announced a special called grand jury has indicted Johnson's ex-husband Doug Whisnant with one count of First Degree Murder, one count of Aggravated Kidnapping and one count of Theft.

Search crews have gone as far as draining ponds, but so far Johnson's body has never been found.

A news conference on this development is scheduled for 2 pm.
