KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A judge has denied a second request by prosecutors to exhume the body of Knox County's former prosecutor to further investigate his death.
The first request denied by Judge Richard Baumgartner was from a special prosecutor who is trying Ed Dossett's widow in the death of her second husband.
The prosecutor hoped that exhuming the body would reveal evidence that could be used in the murder case against Raynella Dossett Leath.
The second motion sought to exhume the body to explore whether Dossett really died accidentally from being trampled to death by his own cattle or whether he could have been murdered.
The judge ruled that there are other means to investigate Dossett's death.
