NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Music City Star commuter train hit and killed a pedestrian Monday morning.
The train hit the unidentified pedestrian at the Maple Hill Road crossing in Lebanon, about 26 miles east of Nashville, just before 6 a.m.
Diane Thorne, executive director of the Regional Transportation Authority, said there were no further details on the pedestrian.
Officials stopped the train on the tracks after the incident, but the train has since resumed.
WTVF-TV in Nashville reported there were commuters on the train when the pedestrian was hit.
