CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- Firefighters are trying to contain a diesel fuel leak after a tanker truck overturned in Chattanooga.
Bruce Garner, a spokesman for the fire department, said the 18-wheeler overturned on the onramp to Highway 27 East on Monday morning.
The tanker was carrying about 5,000 gallons of fuel, which leaked out. Firefighters are digging a temporary retention pond to contain the leak.
The department plans to unload the fuel onto another tanker and then upright the overturned truck, which could take several hours.
