UPDATE: Knoxville man killed after being hit by train in N. Knox County

KNOX COUNTY (WVLT) – The Knox County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the man killed by a train on Thursday evening in Northeast Knox County.

According to investigators, Thomas Sheehan, 32 of Estonia Drive was lying between the tracks when train approached him.

He apparently looked up at the train shortly before he was hit and killed on the tracks near Bull Run Valley Drive.

Fire and rescue teams along with Rural/Metro were immediately called to the scene and aerial video showed those crews walking from car to car, trying to find the victim.
