Amber Alert Cancelled: Child Found Safe

Elijah has been safely located and is being currently transported to the hospital as a precaution. The vehicle was located on the side of the road with the child still strapped into his car seat.

KNOXVILLE (WVLT) – A statewide Amber Alert has been issued out Lewisburg in south-middle Tennessee.

According to the Lewisburg Police Department, six month old Elijah Pierce was in his mother’s car alone when it was stolen from in front of his grandmother’s house.

Authorities are on the lookout for the car, a red 2004 Chevy Cavalier, with four doors and a Bedford County license plate reading 842SNS.

Elijah is described as a white male, 24 inches in length and weighing 18 lbs.

He has blond hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a blue snow suit with teddy bear ears.

    I would just like to say that thank goodness little Elijah has been found safe and sound. There is no need to point fingers at mom, she doesn't need that, I am sure she has ben through a lot already!! Lots of love and prayers to you and your family.

    I am just very grateful that whoever stole/took off with the vehicle was not inclined to harm the baby. Thank you,God!

    Authorities need to take a hard look at this woman, if this is the kind of behavior that is common for her surrounding her child. The child should have never been put into that situation.

    Thank God! I hope this baby's mother has learned not to leave her keys or her child in the car!
