NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A woman who was seriously injured in last month's tornadoes has died, bringing the statewide death toll up to 33.
Tennessee Emergency Management Agency spokesman Jeremy Heidt says a 58-year-old woman from Macon County died Thursday as a result of her injuries.
The woman had been treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville before being transferred to the rehabilitation facility where she died. Her identity and details of her injuries were not immediately released.
Macon County, about 50 miles northeast of Nashville, was the hardest hit area of the string of storms on Feb. 5 that killed nearly 60 people nationwide.
Including the latest fatality, 14 people from the county were killed and dozens more injured.
