MIDDLESBORO, Tenn (WVLT) -- A pilot has been seriously injured in a plane crash in Bell County, Kentucky.
WKYT-TV in Lexington is reporting some ATV riders witnessed the single engine Cessna clip power lines and crash in a rural area near Pineville around 3 p.m.
The plane is registered to Emory C. Hurley of Pikeville, Ky. But, a source at the London-Corbin Airport tells volunteertv.com that the plane is owned by the Mountain Drive Coal Company.
Kentucky State Police is on the scene on Mountain Drive. They say the pilot was the only person on board.
WYMT's Jeff Allen says he saw the pilot being removed from the wreckage on a stretcher. Kentucky State Police say he is alert and talking to them.
He was airlifted to U.T. Medical Center for treatment of numerous injuries according to the FAA.
