WEST KNOXVILLE (WVLT) – Two cars collided head on late Sunday afternoon after one of them ran into debris on I-40.

It happened just before 6:00 PM in the interstate’s west bound lanes at Cedar Bluff.

According to police, a ladder that fell from another vehicle caused the wreck.

Apparently a car struck the ladder, which caused it to spin around and crash head on with another car.

No one was injured, but one lane of the interstate was closed for about a half hour while road crews cleaned up.

As of late Sunday evening, investigators were still searching for the driver of the vehicle that dropped the ladder.
