NEW DETAILS: Body found in Union Co. is missing Knox Co. man

LUTTRELL, Tenn (WVLT) -- A body found at a mine in Union County has been identified as a missing Knox County man.

A Knox County Sheriff's Office spokesperson says Charles Ried's body was found by mine employees shortly after 5:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Workers had been away for the Easter holiday weekend.

Ried was found outside of his car.

Right now, officials do not suspect foul play.

But the investigation is still on-going.

An autopsy has been requested for Ried's body.

The 80 year old Alzheimer's patient had been missing since Thursday.
