LOCAL 8 WEATHER ALERT: Strong to severe storms will be possible in spots later tonight...9 PM Saturday to 2 AM Sunday is the favored time period...with the potential for large hail and damaging wind, and possibly even an isolated tornado.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- All lanes of Interstate 40 eastbound in West Knox County now back open after a 90-minute cleanup of an accident scene.
The accident happened on I-40 between Watt Road and Campbell Station Road, around 2:30 p.m. The road reopened just before 4:00 p.m.
Tennessee Department of Transportation cameras in the area show an extensive backup.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol dispatcher says a camper being towed behind a truck rolled over blocking all lanes.
No word on any injuries.
Volunteer TV Eye in the Sky Pete Michaels is above the scene, but reports a snow shower in the area is restricting his view.
