Knox Sheriff: Knox County business burned to cover thefts

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- Knox County Sheriff's Office investigators say a fire that destroyed a Halls business and factory on March 16th was an arson.

Investigators said today the fire at Sports Belle Manufacturing on Pleasant Ridge Road was set to cover up thefts from the business.

The thefts occured in several offices and production areas, according to a media release posted on the Sheriff's Office website.

Sports Belle makes sport team uniforms and equipment for high schools and colleges.
