Tennessee Valley Authority electricity rate increase starts today

It's no April Fool's joke. As of today, you're paying more for electricity.

Back in February, TVA approved a seven percent hike in wholesale electric rates, and today's the day that increase goes into effect.

TVA officials say amounts will vary in the valley, but residential customers can expect an increase of about for to seven dollars in their monthly electric bills, depending on individual energy use.
