CLINTON, Ky. (AP) -- A jury in Clinton, Kentucky, has convicted a West Tennessee man of kidnapping, raping and murdering a Kentucky teenager whose body was found eight years ago.
Jurors deliberated for more than three hours before returning the guilty verdicts against Quincy Omar Cross, of Tiptonville, Tenn.
He was charged last year in the killing of 18-year-old Jessica Currin. Her body was found burned behind a school in 2000.
Currin's mother smiled and folded her hands together near her face after the verdict was read Tuesday in a far western Kentucky courtroom.
The jury will return Wednesday to decide the punishment for Cross, who could get the death penalty.
