KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- The now-16-year-old girl accused of killing her father and stepmother last year on Jolly Lane in Solway has been indicted on two counts of first degree murder by the Knox County Grand Jury.
Amanda McGhee, 15 when the alleged crime happened, lost a battle in Knox County Juvenile Court in February to keep her case from being tried in adult court.
McGhee is accused, along with her adult boyfriend Andrew Bryan Mann, of plotting the murders over a number of weeks. McGhee told interrogators that the original plot had involved battery acid, but said she and Mann decided to use her father's gun instead.
McGhee, in the taped interrogation, told police her father Terrance McGhee lay alive for hours in his bed making strange noises before he died. McGhee said she called her stepmother Alisa McGhee at work the day of the murders to tell her she loved her, and to ask when she'd be home.
