Gap Creek Elem. Principal dies

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Gap Creek Elementary School Principal Joyce E. Core has died, she was 64, according to Knox County Schools Spokesman Russ Oaks.

Core's history with the school system goes back to 1976 when she started in the Title I program.

She became principal of Cedar Bluff Primary School in 1987, and stayed there until 2003 when she took over at Gap Creek Elementary.
