UT, Knoxville Police investigating armed robbery attempt in Fort

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police are investigation an attempted armed robbery that happened early Friday morning in Fort Sanders near UT.

The victim told investigators that a white man brandished a pocket knife and demanded money. There was a scuffle, and the victim suffered minor injuries, but the knife was not used in the fight.

Police are looking for a white 25 to 35-year-old male suspect. He's described as 5' 8" to 5' 11", weighing about 170 lbs with black or brown buzz-cut hair. He was reportedly wearing a white T-shirt and dark navy jeans.

Anyone with information should call police.
