KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An 18 month-old nearly drowned in the backyard pool of a west Knoxville home Tuesday evening, according to the Knoxville Police Dept. The child was playing near the shallow end of the pool when he fell in.
The boy's mother, Jamie Piety, pulled the child out and began administering CPR along with other adults. The boy was taken to Children's Hospital where he was admitted to ICU overnight.
There were four adults and six children at the home, 1609 Sundrop Drive, at the time.
Investigators have determined the incident was an accident and will not be pressing charges.
