5 dead, 7 hurt after truck, van collide in Pennsylvania

EIGHTY-FOUR, Pa. (AP) -- Officials in Pennsylvania say at least five people are dead following a collision between a tractor-trailer and a van carrying residents from a group home for the mentally disabled.

A coroner says that witnesses told investigators the van stopped at an intersection and then pulled right in front of the tractor-trailer. The crash flipped the vehicle onto its side and crushed it against a building.

He says seven people were taken to hospitals, where several were reported in stable condition. The tractor-trailer driver was treated and released.
