First court appearance for Blount County murder suspect

FRIENDSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An East Tennessee man charged in connection with the death of a Blount County man made an initial appearance in court Friday morning.

During the hearing, Jeffrey Lee Jenkins was appointed an attorney.

Authorities say Jenkins murdered a man last weekend in Friendsville.

Authorities have now officially identified the victim as Jerry Lee Click, 57. His body was burned beyond recognition, but Click's family members have been saying he was the man who was killed.

Click's family says he lived in a camper on the property where he was found.

I know this man, and he is capible of anything. He should have never been released out of prison in the first place. This could have been prevented if he had been throughly reviewed upon request of his elease. jeffrey has finaly accomplishe his mission,at the cost of someone elses life. It is ashame that this could even happen, moreless at the hands of such a man.
