FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) -- The Department of Defense says two Fort Campbell soldiers died in Iraq on Wednesday from injuries suffered when their vehicle rolled into a canal.
Twenty-two-year-old John T. Bishop, of Gaylord, Mich., and 26-year-old 1st Lt. Timothy W. Cunningham, of College Station, Texas, died in Golden Hills, Iraq. The deaths are under investigation.
Both were assigned to 1st Squadron, 32nd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.
Including Bishop and Cunningham, five soldiers from the base on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line have died in the last week.
