Pennsylvania woman admits killing bigamist husband

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A Pennsylvania woman is admitting she killed her bigamist husband hours before he was set to leave for Morocco to visit his younger second wife.

Myra Morton pleaded guilty today to third-degree murder. The 48-year-old woman was upset about his plans to have children with his second wife. She shot her 47-year-old husband twice in the head in August while he slept. She initially blamed an intruder.

Her lawyer says she's facing five to 20 years in prison.

The Mortons had converted to Islam about 20 years ago. Prosecutors say he met his second wife last year on the Internet. In keeping with Muslim custom, Myra Morton traveled to Morocco to bless the marriage, but police say she grew to resent the arrangement.
