NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT/AP) -- State Sen. Tim Burchett was hospitalized after complaining of chest pains Wednesday, but he was released from the hospital Thursday.
Sen. Burchett tells Volunteer TV that doctors found inflamation in his chest, and wanted to keep him overnight. He's still in Nashville, and says now he plans to rest.
Sen. Randy McNally announced on the Senate floor Thursday that the Knoxville Republican had been admitted into Nashville's Baptist Hospital the previous afternoon.
McNally, an Oak Ridge Republican, says the 43-year-old Burchett was expected to be released as early as Thursday after tests revealed no serious heart problems.
Burchett was first elected in 1998.
