Austin-East girls' basketball coach Eric Brabson, who led the Lady Roadrunners to the Class AA state championship in 2007, will not be back next school year as coach or teacher.
With the restructuring of A-E, all teachers went through a re-interview process. Brabson, certified in social studies, did not make the new faculty lineup and was placed at South-Doyle Middle School.
Brabson said he doesn't know why he was not "retained."
“I have not gotten the answer from anybody," he said. "Downtown won't tell me. The new administration, none of them will tell me why.
“I am certified in social studies. I mainly teach U.S. History (at A-E). But I have some excellent test scores. I really don't know why.”
