LOUDON COUNTY (WVLT) – On Saturday, thousands flocked to Lenoir City Park for part one of the annual Rockin’ the Docks celebration. Many more sat in boats off the park's shoreline where they were just within ear shot of the live music.
Rockin’ the Docks is an alcohol free event that features many food vendors, children's activities and even a rock climbing wall.
Even though spring still has another month to go, those who attend say it the celebration really helps kick off the summer season.
"We're out here to have a good time,” said Jackie Courtney who was visiting from Strawberry Plains. “It's the first beautiful weekend we've had in awhile and we wanted to enjoy the music and the great weather."
Rockin’ the Docks wrapped up around 10:30 PM with a large fireworks display. Part two is scheduled for July 5th. You can read more about it by clicking on the link below.
