WELLSTON, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office has concluded that a Tennessee woman found dead in a mobile home near Wellston was fatally shot in the back.
Medical Examiner's Office spokesman Kevin Rowland said Wednesday that 42-year-old Pennye Lorenda Wheatley was the victim of a murder-suicide.
The body of 51-year-old Kennith Leslie Want was found with Wheatley's body in his mobile home southwest of Wellston. Rowland says Want was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the torso.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation inspector Stan Florence says investigators are still trying to determine Want's relationship to Wheatley and a motive for the crime.
Want's son found the pair Monday afternoon.
