POLICE: East Tennessee woman left child in hot car, could face charges

MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Last weekend, as temperatures neared 90 degrees, police in Madisonville say a Tellico Plains woman put her young child at great risk.

Authorities say Kristen Overly left her 4-year-old daughter in her car while she made a trip into a Wal-Mart in Madisonville.

Police, Fire and EMS were soon on the scene, as well as the Department of Children's Services.

According to Madisonville Police Chief Gregg Breeden, no charges have been filed, but there is still the possibility that Overly will face child neglect charges.
