KNOX COUNTY (WVLT) – Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a Sunday evening shooting in North Knox County.

It happened just after 7:15 PM when James Allen Taylor, 38, allegedly shot Tom Nelson, 39, in the neck on Carbine Lane off of Rifle Range Road.

Nelson was taken to UT Medical Center with where he was being treated late Sunday. He's listed in stable condition.

Another round injured Taylor's ex-wife when it hit the front door and sent glass shards into her stomach. 40-year-old Frieda Taylor was treated and released.

A woman was also taken to the hospital after she was but by shattered glass.

James Allen Taylor has been arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault.

Tom and Frieda got what was coming to them. They are go around telling people they are married when in fact Tom is still married to another woman. What set James off was Tom and Frieda's bull. They are both trash and really should pay for a whole lot more of the trash they dump around town.

Well, me, I am a person from now days, and I care more about more than just myself or my family. I happen to know James, Frieda, and Tom. I've been friends with them all for several years. Granted, I know some of them better than others. I know that Tom didn't deserve what happened to him. I know that Frieda didn't deserve what happened to her or to be stuck in the middle of a mess. And, I am having a hard time reconciling the James that I know to the James that did what he is accused of doing. I know what could have sent him over the edge, but I just can't imagine the man I know, the man who was as caring as he was to my kids, as much fun as we all had together, doing something like this. It's just not in his nature. I believe Frieda 100%, NOT calling her a liar, but I cannot imagine what happened to James to make him go that crazy! But, I am people now days and I still care about my family. AND others. And,that neighborhood does, too, because they all took care of each other.

I ahve to admit I don't really care about anyone except family and myself which is why i agree with golfnfire. sorry pam but people now days just care bout themselves and the media always reporting crime dosen't help me think any better of people. If they reported happy news i might make a positive comment.

This is a comment to golfnfire, You should really try to get a life and stop writing rude blogs and insults. It seems you have nothing better to do or say for that matter since you're written the same thing in every place from the newspaper to news sites. I do not have to defend Frieda Taylor to a self involved finger pointing person such as yourself. I have far better things to do with my time. However I just wanted to say that I pray every day for people with such cold and harsh judging attitudes such as yourself and regardless if this happened in a trailer or what, it didn't deserve to happen. I know both Frieda and James and have for many years, James obviously had something send him over the edge and snapped. I'm sure you don't care about any of the people involved here so why don't you find something else to occupy your time instead of throwing insults at people you don't know.
