Accused kidnapper, missing child found in Virginia

UPDATE 6/16/08 7:00 p.m.:<.b> Colin Nathaniel Custer and his father Robert William Custer II have been found in Virginia.

Colin is safe, and Robert is in custody, according to WYFF-TV in Greenville, S.C.

Robert Custer is charged with kidnapping the boy and abducting the boy's mother.

Colin's mother was able to escape with minor injuries earlier Monday in South Carolina.


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A 4-year-old boy and the man accused of kidnapping him and his mother in Florida Monday is believed to be headed North, and could pass through East Tennessee, according the the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The TBI says Robert William Custer II, 45, is suspected of abducting Colin Nathaniel Custer, 4, along with Colin's mother in Ocala, Fla.

Colin's mother was able to escape in South Carolina, but Colin is apparently still with the accused kidnapper, and authorities believe the two may pass through East Tennessee on their way to states farther north.

They're believed to be traveling in a 1988 white Chevy Conversion Van.

Anyone with information should call the police.
