Police discover cooked cat, drowned kittens in East Tennessee apartment

ATHENS, Tenn. (AP) -- Athens police believe a 16-year-old girl is responsible for cooking a cat inside an oven and drowning two kittens.

According to a police report, the teenager went to a nearby library on Friday, called her mother at work and told her something bad had happened.

The Daily Post-Athenian reports that when officers arrived at the apartment, they found a "fully-cooked" cat inside the stove and two kittens submerged in about four inches of water in the kitchen sink.

Charges have not been filed against the girl, but she is being treated at a mental health facility.

Prosecutors suggested the girl receive treatment, but police say charges in the case could be filed if another incident occurs.

First of all, she is NOT a female mike vick. He knew exactly what he was doing. This girl is sick. She should be locked away though. Animal torture is the beginnings of a serial killer in a lot of cases.

The girl had a brain tumor that caused her to have mental problems. Even with medication she is still in need of 24 hour supervision. She has been taken to a mentalk health facility where she will get the help she needs.
