Chief Deputy: Victims in fatal crash; alcohol found

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox Co. Sheriff's Office is still investigating the wreck in East Knoxville that killed one man and sent two others to the hospital on Sunday.

According to Chief Deputy Eddie Biggs, 54 year-old Ulyes Williams died when the driver lost control, and the SUV flipped. It happened on Strawberry Plains Rd. near Perry Road around 5:15 p.m.

The two people injured were Michael Lane, 53, and his son Devin Lane, 29. They were both taken to UT Medical.

Biggs said investigators found alcohol in the SUV. He also added that one of the two men told police Williams was behind the wheel "test driving" the car.

Police are investigating.
