OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two incursions occurred onto the property of the Y-12 nuclear weapons plant in Oak Ridge over the weekend.
In one, an Oak Ridge bicyclist was charged with misdemeanor trespassing after security officers said he rode his bike inside the boundaries of the plant property Saturday afternoon. Brent Lee, who is 39, was detained by Y-12 security and later released by Oak Ridge police.
In the other case, 71-year-old Larry Coleman of Knoxville was detained Sunday at the close of a weekly peace vigil at the plant. No charges were filed, but the attorney general's office will be consulted.
Coleman said he inadvertently stepped across the "blue line," marking the boundary as he read signs posted at the plant entrance.
