MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Two people were killed and two others injured in a car crash Sunday afternoon.
According to Morristown Police, it happened just before 1 p.m. on E. Morris Blvd. near Jones Franklin Rd.
Police said the driver of a Nissan Sentra was driving eastbound on E. Morris Blvd. and lost control upon exiting a curve. The car crossed over a median and traveled onto the west bound lanes. The car continued to slide sideways in the west bound lanes when the passenger side of the car was hit by a Chevy Envoy that was traveling west on E. Morris Blvd., according to police.
The passenger of the Nissan Sentra died on the scene. The driver was flown to Johnson City Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.
The two people in the Envoy were transported to the hospital.
Police aren't releasing any names until the victims' families have been notified. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
