MANCHESTER, Ky. (AP) -- Police say one man is dead and another injured after they were shot while hunting turkeys in eastern Kentucky.
State police told WKYT-TV that 28-year-old Brian Griffin died from his injuries after being air-lifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Another man, whose identity wasn't released, was in stable condition on Thursday evening.
Investigators say three men went into the woods in the Clay County community of Fogertown to hunt. The third man wasn't hit by gunfire and called 911. Police said a fourth person is suspected of shooting the men.
Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson described the shooting as a hunting accident.
A state police dispatcher said on Friday morning that officers are still searching for the person who shot the men.
