Blount Co. budget approved, no new taxes

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A New blount county budget will not include any new taxes

The Blount County Commission approved a $41million general fund budget and a $77 million school budget Thursday night.

The county property tax will remain the same.

Blount County Schools will have to use $1.3 million in reserve funds to make up the shortfall.

There is also funding for a proposed five percent, merit-based pay raise for county employees.
