IRS: Don't worry about your stimulus check yet

KNOXVILLE (WVLT) - It should come as no surprise that among the most-clicked on stories on VolunteerTV.com deal with receiving economic stimulus checks.

If you qualify, your check could range from $300 to $1,200.

Since the IRS started mailing payments last month, several people have written us wondering why they haven't received their stimulus check. According to the IRS, you don't have to worry. As long as you have filed your taxes or filed a 10-40A form, your money should be on its way.

"If people filed their tax return by April 15th then they will get their stimulus check on schedule, which is based on the last two digits of your social security numbers,” said IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman.

If you use direct deposit and filed by April 15th, then you should have already received your stimulus payment.

If you are expecting a check in the mail it may take a little longer. By Monday, there will still be two more rounds of mailings left.

The IRS expects to mail checks out through mid-July.

If you are still concerned about your economic stimulus payment, you can click on the links below. The first link will take you to the IRS’s stimulus payment schedule for tax returns processed by April 15th. The second link is to the IRS’s “Where's My Stimulus Payment” tracker. By using it, you can find out when you will receive your payment if you are eligible.

My check was supposed to be mailed out on 6/27, and still have not even received the notice by mail yet that it is coming. The IRS site says the amount I will be getting and explained it, but still no notice by mail.

Got our check, but it was for 600. My wife is on disability and I guess her income from that didn't count. But her son got 2,100 and wouldn't work in a pie factory or his wife ether. They just worked long enough to qualify and to keep their welfare. It's getting to the point, people who work for a living are stupided.
