KNOXVILLE (WVLT) - It should come as no surprise that among the most-clicked on stories on VolunteerTV.com deal with receiving economic stimulus checks.
If you qualify, your check could range from $300 to $1,200.
Since the IRS started mailing payments last month, several people have written us wondering why they haven't received their stimulus check. According to the IRS, you don't have to worry. As long as you have filed your taxes or filed a 10-40A form, your money should be on its way.
"If people filed their tax return by April 15th then they will get their stimulus check on schedule, which is based on the last two digits of your social security numbers,” said IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman.
If you use direct deposit and filed by April 15th, then you should have already received your stimulus payment.
If you are expecting a check in the mail it may take a little longer. By Monday, there will still be two more rounds of mailings left.
The IRS expects to mail checks out through mid-July.
