Two more Tennessee Red Cross volunteers leaving to help Midwest flood victims

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Two more Red Cross volunteers from East Tennessee are headed to the nation's Midwest to help victims of recent flooding.

The new volunteers will make a total of 20 Red Cross volunteers from eight East Tennessee counties working in the flood and tornado ravaged region, according to a Knox-Area Red Cross press release.

The release says, "This number represents the largest contingent of east Tennessee Red Crossers deployed to disasters outside our region since the aftermath of September 11th."
