CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- Chattanooga police were trying to serve a warrant when they smelled telltale chemicals.
Narcotics officers were called Monday morning and arrested 5 people at an Econo Lodge motel.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said charges were expected to follow.
A hazardous materials team was called out to remove the chemicals. An evacuation wasn't necessary.
Police said this is the third meth operation found in a motel room this year in Chattanooga.
No injuries have been reported.
