Downtown Knoxville's Jackson Ave. bridge reopens after repairs

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Jackson Avenue bridge that connects Gay Street and the Old City in Downtown Knoxville is set to reopen Monday after being closed for repairs April 18.

The City of Knoxville says the bridge repairs were completed during the first part of June, and they have been approved by the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

The City expects to use federal bridge replacement money to replace the bridge in the next three-to-five years.
