Knoxville mayor, police chief honor three KPD officers

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville Police met Monday morning to honor three outstanding members of their ranks.

Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Police Chief Sterling Owen presented the April and May Officer of the Month Awards.

April's Officer of the Month, Chaz Terry, was honored for his work on a drug bust.

May Officer of the Month, Eric Parks, has been Officer of the Month two other times, once in 2004 and once in 2006.

A third officer, Andrew Boatman, was honored with the life saving award this year.

At the ceremony, Mayor Haslam said, "We want to thank you, that was three extraordinary pieces of work, and you all did great jobs."

Officer terry also won the lifesaving award in 2006.
